Addressing the 13th Meeting of Labor Assembly, held under the theme of ‘The Future of Labor, Union Organizing and Employment’, President Erdoğan said: “We have taken many historic steps in the past 21 years in the fields of union rights and freedoms besides wages and employment.”

 

 


 

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the 13th Meeting of Labor Assembly, held under the theme of ‘The Future of Labor, Union Organizing and Employment,’ at the Exhibition Hall of the Presidential Complex.

Highlighting the steps taken with an inclusive approach in the past 21 years to increase the welfare of workers, employers, civil servants, merchants and farmers, President Erdoğan stated: “In consultation with you, we have put into force regulations regarding labor law, social security reform, occupational health and safety, and union law. We have introduced historic hikes in minimum wage through maximum consensus between employees and employers. We have raised net minimum wage to TL17,002 in 2024, up 49 per cent from July and 100 per cent from January.”

 

 

 

 

“TÜRKİYE EXPERIENCES ALL-TIME HIGH IN EMPLOYMENT IN ITS HISTORY”

Noting that the minimum wage support, initiated in 2016, has been increased to TL700 per insured person as of July 2024, President Erdoğan said: “With the abolishment of taxes on the minimum wage, we have introduced tax exemption for earnings up to the minimum wage in all income groups. Our country experiences all-time high in employment in its history. Our employment figures have reached 32,423 million.”

 

 

 

 

 

“We have taken many historic steps in the past 21 years in the fields of union rights and freedoms besides wages and employment,” stressed President Erdoğan, adding: “With the Law on Unions and Collective Bargaining, we have had the opportunity to amend after 29 years the law the putschists enacted in 1983. Having taken civil servants’ right to collective bargaining under constitutional protection, we have granted our civil servants the right to collective bargaining. We have concluded the collective bargaining processes of workers and civil servants mostly through consensus. The number of union-member workers have increased from 1 million in 2013 to 2.5 million currently. We have also instituted the payment of collective bargaining bonus to union-member civil servants once every three months.”

In a message he issued for the new year, President Erdoğan said: “We endeavor to bring the peace efforts in our region to fruition. We advance our relations with our friends in every area. Our hearts are saddened by the troubles of our brothers and sisters. We support every effort aimed at preparing the world for a better, fairer and more prosperous future.”

 

 


 

 

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a new year message:

“My glorious nation, I greet you all with love from the bottom of my heart. Tonight, we are completing 2023 and stepping into 2024. I wish that the new year will lead to auspicious outcomes for our country, nation and the whole humanity.

 

 

 

In fact, we believe that every year should be marked with joy, hope and enthusiasm. However, we are entering this year in a bitter manner due to the unpleasant incidents in both our region and the world as well as to our martyrs we lost recently. Obviously, we preserve our hope for a better, more peaceful and more prosperous future for the whole humanity.

 

 

 

“WE ENDEAVOR TO BRING THE PEACE EFFORTS IN OUR REGION TO FRUITION”

For this to happen, we must first see that so-called democrat and libertarian countries stop supporting murderous terrorist organizations. For this to happen, we must first see that all the countries and institutions display a common stance against the massacre of innocent children and women in Gaza. For this to happen, we must first see that just and sincere efforts are exerted to end the conflicts, the Russia-Ukraine war in particular, which deeply saddens people and waste the resources of countries.

For this to happen, we must first see that the riches of societies, which have been exploited and whose dignities have been trampled for centuries, are used for their own future, prosperity and security. In short, we must ensure that all the countries, institutions and individuals in the world unite around common values and principles.

 

 

 

We as Türkiye represent a different place, a different mission and a different understanding within this picture of the world. We as the state and the nation not only endeavor to bring our efforts we have been exerting for our own security and prosperity to fruition. But with an understanding that we cannot feel at peace until a climate of peace prevails in our region and the world, we wish for the same standards for everyone.

With this understanding, we endeavor to bring the peace efforts in our region to fruition. We advance our relations with our friends in every area. Our hearts are saddened by the troubles of our brothers and sisters. We support every effort aimed at preparing the world for a better, fairer and more prosperous future.

 

 

 

 

“THE UNJUST AND UNBALANCED GLOBAL ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM IS AT ITS LAST STRUGGLES”

We constantly consolidate our determination and efforts in a period during which our Republic is completing its first century, stepping into a new era that we call the Century of Türkiye and aiming for bigger goals. We believe that the persecutions of oppressors will not last forever. We believe that the unjust and unbalanced global administration system is at its last struggles. We believe that the voice of the oppressed will be spread to every inch of the entire world, and that these cries will grow bigger and turn into the common conscience of the humanity. As a matter of fact, we see that Türkiye’s statements on and attitudes towards the whole humanity as well as its own citizens, friends, brothers and sisters capture more and more hearts each passing day.

My glorious nation, obviously, we continuously face new challenges, new problems and new setbacks on this trying path. The aim of the prevention of building the great and strong Türkiye lies behind the challenges we are faced with in many areas, from the fight against terror to economic traps. As long as we as the country continue to use our own potential and means in an efficient manner, this struggle will get even tougher.

 

 

 

 

That is so because, Türkiye’s growth means the foiling of the schemes of those, who freely roam our near environ because of our centuries-long stumbles. That we grow stronger means the ending of the orders of those, who use as a means, exploit and oppress all the others for the sake of their own prosperity and security. That our voice is further listened to means the strengthening of the quests for rights, justice, freedom and conscience all across the world.

 

 

 

 

Our nation has not hesitated to pay price, make sacrifice and assume responsibility to achieve its own goals in any period of its history. The strong stance displayed by our nation against many critical incidents in the past 21 years shows that this determination continues today as well.

“THE RISE OF OUR STAR-CRESCENT FLAG WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE”

 

 

 

I would like to reiterate from here. As long as our nation defends its unity, solidarity and brotherhood, with Allah’s permission, no one will ever be able to divide us. As long as our state implements the vision of the Century of Türkiye, the next stage of our goals for 2023, with Allah’s permission, the rise of our star-crescent flag will always continue.

 

 

 

 

As long as our political, economic, military and diplomatic achievements continue to reassure our friends and to scare our foes, the fogs in front us will further disappear. In short, as long as we do not compromise our independence and future, no one will be able to block our sacred march.

 

 

 

In the past, we wasted a lot of time, a lot of energy and a lot of people against the powers of tutelage, putschists, terrorist organizations, political and social engineering projects, each of which inflicted as a means of imperialists upon us. From now on, we neither buy these tricks, nor have any intention to pay such heavy prices. It has been long since we separated our ways with those, who deprived our country of its historical legacy and the means it had to have by keeping it occupied with its internal problems. That is what our motto, ‘One Nation, One Flag, One State, One Homeland,’ which we repeat at every opportunity, actually means.

 

 

 

 

“WE ARE COMMENCING OUR REAL RISE WITH THE CENTURY OF TÜRKİYE”

2024 will inshallah be a year in which we will leave behind the troublesome period, which began with the coup attempt, grew bigger with the COVID-19 pandemic and got deepened with the conflicts in our region, and will lock in on our targets. In a period during which global crises increasingly continue, we will once again show our difference, and raise the star of Türkiye, which produces, generates jobs, grows bigger and develops.

 

 

 

The goals for 2023 were only a start, we are commencing our real rise with the Century of Türkiye, with 2024. We wholeheartedly believe that we, together with your support, will be victorious in this struggle.

With these feelings, I once again wish that the new year will lead to auspicious outcomes for each and every individual of our nation and the humanity. I greet you all with love and respect. Stay in good health!”

“The events in Gaza have once again shown that a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders is now inevitable,” President Erdoğan said.

Le Président Erdoğan rencontre son homologue américain Biden
Le Président Recep Tayyip Erdoğan a rencontré son homologue américain Joe Biden en marge du sommet du G20 à Bali.

Les deux leaders ont discuté des relations bilatérales ainsi que des questions liées au commerce et à la sécurité.

Le Président américain Biden a présenté ses condoléances après les citoyens turcs qui ont perdu la vie dans l’attentat terroriste dans le quartier de Taksim à Istanbul.

Les développements régionaux ont été également abordés et le Président américain Biden a remercié le Président Erdoğan de ses efforts pour la résolution du problème lié au corridor céréalier entre la Russie et l’Ukraine et pour la reprise des expéditions.

Le Président américain a aussi déclaré que leur soutien, en tant qu’administration, au processus du F-16 entre la Türkiye et les Etats-Unis se poursuivra, et a souligné que la Türkiye est un acteur important pour l’adhésion de la Suède à l’OTAN.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed with an official ceremony President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, who is paying an official visit to Türkiye.

 

 

 

Once the two leaders arrived at the ceremonial ground, the national anthems of Türkiye and Palestine were played, and President Abbas inspected the guard of honor.

Following the introduction of the delegations, the two leaders posed for the press and headed inside for their meeting.

Addressing a ceremony for the delivery of houses rebuilt as part of the Great Istanbul Transformation project, President Erdoğan said: “We have victimized none of our citizens while rebuilding our cities, all over again so-to-speak, with urban transformation projects.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the Delivery Ceremony for the Esenler First Phase of the 60,000-House Great Istanbul Transformation.

Marking the 23rd anniversary of the 17 August 1999 earthquake, which led to the death of 18 thousand citizens, President Erdoğan said: “As humans, it is not in our hands to prevent disasters; yet, it is in our hands to take measures against their destructive impacts.”

Drawing attention to the comprehensive urban transformation projects implemented across Türkiye in a manner to cover all of the cities, President Erdoğan said: “We have victimized none of our citizens while rebuilding our cities, all over again so-to-speak, with urban transformation projects. We have entirely eliminated old bad habits in the construction of buildings by making use of the construction inspection system and other technological means. We have thus far completed the transformation of 3 million houses.”
