On October 25, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin, participated and addressed at the high-level panel “Green energy transition and green hydrogen” in the Global Gateway Forum.

 

 

 

In his presentation on the country’s existing potential, Sirojiddin Muhriddin identified the hydropower sector as one of the main pillars of the “green transition” and the main source of green hydrogen production.

It was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan, having adopted the “Green Economy Strategy”, has laid the foundations for the transition to a green economy and intends to double the production of electricity from renewable sources by 2050.

 

 

 

The Foreign Minister also noted that Tajikistan has natural resources and critical raw materials that are needed by industrialised countries. He called on cooperation partners and financial institutions to use existing opportunities to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties.

In high-level panels at the Global Gateway Forum, representatives from countries around the world exchange views on the green transition, renewable energy production, transport corridors, as well as education, research and health.

On March 7-9, 2023, the international exhibition “ITB Berlin-2023” was held in Berlin, where the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of domestic tourism companies took part.

Within the framework of joint cooperation between the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Embassy of Tajikistan to Germany and the Exhibition Centre of Berlin “Messe Berlin”, a tourist corner of our country was organized under the name “Tajikistan – the country of tourism”.

In the Tajik corner, visitors and travel lovers were presented with materials on tourism opportunities, guides, maps, information flyers and etc.

It should be stressed that the active participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in ITB Berlin will create a favorable condition for the presentation of the country’s tourism opportunities, attracting a large number of tourists and strengthening effective cooperation between domestic and international tourism companies.

In 2023, 5,500 representatives from 161 countries participated in ITB Berlin, thereby presenting their opportunities and services to participants and industry experts.
