On 9 February 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, Special Envoy for Afghanistan Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakheet.

 

 

 

 

At the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as prospects for joint actions.

 

 

 

The parties also exchanged views on current international and regional issues, including the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

On November 1st, 2023, the 16th Session of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Forum “Central Asia – the Republic of Korea” was held in Ashgabat city, which was attended by the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

 

 

 

 

During his speech, the head of the Tajik delegation shared the country’s vision of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation, strengthening cooperation and sustainable development within this effective format.

 

 

 

 

On the sidelines of the Cooperation Forum, six thematic sessions were held in the areas of transport and logistics, health and medicine, environmental protection and climate change, information and communication technologies, science and education, as well as tourism in in-person and virtual formats.

The meeting participants exchanged views on important issues on the agenda, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

 

 

 

 

As a result of the meeting, the Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Work Plan of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum for 2024 were adopted.

On October 26, 2023, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Korea Salohiddin Kirom met with the Vice President of the Exim Bank of Korea, Head of Operation Group of the Korea Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) Hong Soon Young.

 

 

 

During the conversation, sides discussed the prospects for cooperation with financial institution, including issues of attracting financing to priority projects of our country, such as the Rogun HPP, as well as in the fields of transport, healthcare and environmental protection.

On October 10, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part and delivered a speech at the 27th meeting of the Council of Ministers Foreign Affairs of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states in the city of Shusha, Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

 

During his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted priority areas of cooperation within the Economic Cooperation Organization framework and emphasized the importance of further expanding economic integration and implementing investment projects in the fields of infrastructure, energy, transport, industry and other priority areas.

 

 

 

Following the meeting, the Ministers adopted the Shusha Declaration and a number of decisions regarding to the ECO activities.

On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which laid the foundations of the Organization of Turkic States, we wholeheartedly congratulate the Turkic States Cooperation Day.

 

 

Launched in 1992 as the “Summits of the Heads of State of Turkic Speaking States”, the process today has evolved into a full-fledged international organization, thanks to the strong will and joint efforts demonstrated by the member countries.

 

 

The Organization of Turkic States aims to rapidly enhance and deepen cooperation among the member states, harmonize national capacities, and contribute to the peace and stability as a responsible and responsive regional actor in the global arena.

 

 

 

Türkiye will continue its ceaseless efforts to further strengthen the Turkic cooperation and make the Turkic World “stronger together”.

On 31 July 2023, there was held the 18th Extraordinary Virtual Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the desecration and burning of copies of Quran.

 

 

 

 

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Farhod Salim represented the Republic of Tajikistan at the session.

 

 

 

 

 

The Deputy Minister noted that the Quran’s message of peace, compassion and tolerance and its emphasis on learning, knowledge and science, are of outmost necessity for entire humanity at all times.

On June 26, 2023, the Cooperation Council between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union held its tenth meeting in Luxembourg. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Tobias Billström headed the delegations.

 

 

 

During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the key aspects of partnership and cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the EU, including in political and economic spheres. The parties also discussed the current state and prospects for development of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union in the political, trade-economic, water and energy, security, fight against terrorism and extremism, human rights fields, current international and regional issues.
