During the call, the Head of State discussed the current situation in the Middle East with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said and expressed firm support for Oman, as well as solidarity with the brotherly people of the country during this challenging period.

President Tokayev voiced concern over air attacks on civilian infrastructure in Gulf states that are not involved in the war against Iran.

The Head of State expressed special appreciation to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said for his personal assistance in facilitating the evacuation of Kazakh citizens from the region through Omani territory.

In turn, the Sultan of Oman thanked President Tokayev for his words of support and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed his earlier invitation to the Sultan of Oman to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan before the end of the year, noting that such a visit would mark a significant step toward elevating the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries to a new level.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said stated that he accepts the invitation from the leader of a state that enjoys high standing in the international community.

The both leaders expressed satisfaction with the state of bilateral relations, which are developing in the true spirit of friendship and mutual cooperation, and expressed readiness to maintain this positive dynamic at the highest level.

 

 

 

 

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Qatar is one of Kazakhstan’s strategic partners in the Arab world. According to the President, the recent visit and participation of the Amir of Qatar in the Astana International Forum gave a strong impetus to Kazakh-Qatari cooperation.

 

 

 

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the prospects for deepening trade and economic cooperation on the basis of previously signed agreements, as well as outlined areas for expanding further partnership.

During the meeting with Stefan Oelrich, Member of the Board of Management of Bayer AG and head of Pharmaceuticals Division, the prospects for cooperation in the areas of healthcare, sustainable agriculture and scientific research were discussed.

 

 

The Head of State emphasized Kazakhstan’s interest in access to Bayer’s latest medical products, as well as in opening laboratories and carrying out joint research projects.

 

 

Bayer AG is an international group specializing in biomedical solutions for healthcare and agriculture.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan is actively working to develop a biotechnology cluster. He reported on the creation of a national biopharmaceutical holding company, QazBioPharm, which will implement developments in these industries and put them into production.

 

 

 

Potential measures to simplify procedures for importing new medicines into Kazakhstan were also a topic of discussion.

 

 

 

The Head of State believes that the creation of production facilities for the production of fertilisers, pesticides and other biochemicals used in Kazakhstan’s agriculture is of particular interest. In his opinion, there is significant potential for scientific and business cooperation, especially in the field of breeding and genetic engineering.

Foreign ministers have exchanged views on the current state and further development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Sweden, cooperation within the framework the European Union, as well as discussed international and regional issues.

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the prospects for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment and humanitarian areas. Special attention was paid to the effective implementation of the agreements reached following Amir Al Thani’s state visit to Astana in October last year.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the dynamics of mutual trade and implementation of investment projects, including in financial sector.
